Easy Cap Sleeve Tee

Jewel Neckline

A few weeks ago I was asked (well I asked and then was chosen) to test a new pattern for Jodi over at Jocole. I was super excited. I've read about people testing patterns for designers and now it was my turn! I quickly got to work and had the top finished within a few days of receiving the pattern. The top was very easy to sew and the directions were great. She even has pictures to go along with each step for those of us who are visual learners!

The shirt is made with knit fabric and the stretchier the knit, the better. Mine wasn't as stretchy as I was hoping for so the neckline gaped a little. I'm sure it will fix itself in the wash though. Jodi makes sewing with knits fun and easy, nothing to fear. In the pattern, she offers great tips for sewing with knits without using a serger. I sewed my top with my sewing machine and didn't have any problems.

One thing that is really fun about this pattern is that it can be worn frontwards or backwards depending on what you want your neckline to do. I also love the length of this shirt. I don't have to worry about flashing anyone when I bend over.

The pattern comes in sizes XS-XXL, has 4 neckline options to choose from, and has a pattern difficulty rating of EASY. If you're interested in trying one out you can find the pattern here. Tell Jodi, I sent you.

Oh, and she sells great kids patterns too! You can see the vest I made for my son using her reversible vest pattern here.
