Oliver + S Sew-Along Update

I finally made a decision and chose to go with the Shadow Play fabric for the Family Reunion Pattern Sew-Along hosted by Above All Fabric. I just finished day 3 and am anxious to finish. The sew-along has been great. Sarah is leading the sew-along and is giving us 2 days to complete each set of directions for 1 sew-along day. I did make a blunder in the beginning by not remembering to lengthen the dress. My daughter is tall and slim. Hopefully it won't be too short on her. Sarah did suggest I could always make a pair of cute bloomers to match. That might have to be put on the to-do list anyway. The other part that was super frustrating was transferring the pattern marks to the fabric. I even went to Joann's and bought a tracing tool and paper, but the lines wouldn't mark no matter what color I tried. Sarah did mention that using sand paper underneath helps, but I didn't have any on hand. Guess I'll have to stop by Home Depot next time as well.

This was the end of Day 2

Day 3 was sewing the neck facing together and then to the dress.

Hopefully I'll be done in a few days. So far I'm liking how it's turning out.
